The Priorato, after James I handed over this region to Saint Bruno's order to build the carthusian monastery called Scala Dei (the first carthusian monastery in the Iberian Peninsula ). The priorato has been a traditional wine-producing region combining its wine crops mainly with olives and dried fruits.

The exclusive geographical characteristics and climate conditions of this region and the predominance of licorella (typical slat stone) in the soil, make the high quality of its wines possible. At the present time, this region is the only qualified Designation of Origin in Spain together with Rioja. The cultural richness and landscape diversity of the area are remarkable. You can find different monuments and buildings from the romantic period as well as a combination of woods, terraced vineyards descending the hillside to the sea and olives in the mountain area.

Just between 35 and 40 kilometers from Reus, Salou or Terragona.
